Miscellaneous Knitting

This is a knitted beaded bag I made my daughter. I used seed beads, and Pearl Cotton to make it. I lined it, and I used little star beads to embellish it. She was going to a Titanic event, and this was the purse she carried.. |

This is a dickey I knitted for my husband to use when he's riding his motorcycle on cold days. It's from Elizabeth Zimmerman's Knitting Around. I had to lighten the color of the photo somewhat so that, hopefully, you could see the neck ribbing. It's actually very black. It was an easy pattern to knit; it's all ribbing and garter stitch. The hardest part was trying to see black yarn! |

I made a mat for Charming out of two strands of garter-stitched worsted weight acrylic yarn. It didn't take her but a moment to begin to use it. It's nice and comfy, she thinks. At last, Mom knitted something for her! |

This is a scarf I made this Christmas. It's made of Kitty ("railroad") yarn on size 17 needles. It's a blue/green colorway. I made a couple of these this year. One was of Eros, and one was of Kitty. They are the same yarn, just sold by different companies. I found it extremely slippery to work with this yarn the first time I used it; however, the more I worked with it, the more cautious I became about putting my work down and handling what was on the needles. Then, it was much easier to manage. This photo doesn't show the yarn to advantage. Actually, the bits of nylon in blocks between the two cords of the yarn look like beads inserted into the work. |
